Apple Revamps iMac and Mac Mini

Apple has whipped the covers off new iMac and Mac mini desktop computers today, including a 24-inch iMac and a Mac mini with upgraded graphics. The new Macs are available now.

Slapped with the same price tag as the previous 20-inch iMac, the new 24-incher includes a 30 percent larger display, an Intel Core i7 processor, twice the memory and twice the storage. Ideal for the digital home.

The updated Mac mini, meanwhile, features the same NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics installed in Apple’s aluminium unibody MacBooks.

“Our flagship 24-inch iMac with twice the memory and twice the storage is now available for just $1,499,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s COO.

“The Mac mini is not only our most affordable Mac, it’s also the world’s most energy efficient desktop computer.”

The new 20-inch 2.66 GHz iMac has an RRP of £949 and includes:

20-inch widescreen LCD display
2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 6MB shared L2 cache
2GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM expandable to 8GB
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics
320GB Serial ATA hard drive running at 7200 rpm

The new 24-inch 2.66 GHz iMac has an RRP of £1,199 and includes:

4GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM expandable to 8GB

The new 24-inch 2.93 GHz iMac has an RRP of £1,499 and includes:
